IFCSAP submits memo to Minister
ITANAGAR, Jul 21: A delegation of Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) headed by its general secretary Gichik Taaza today submitted a memorandum to Art and Culture, Tourism, UD, Town Planning, Housing and Municipal Affairs Minister Pema Khandu and discussed various issues related to departments of art and culture and tourism of Arunachal Pradesh.
In its memorandum, the delegation appealed the minister to sanction fund for construction of ‘Indigenous Cultural Halls’ with proper infrastructure and facilities and for awareness programme on preservation and promotion of indigenous culture and tradition including folk tale, folk lore, folk song and dance, traditional dramas etc.

KHARSANG Jul 21: Van Mahotsava was celebrated at Kharsang by organizing a tree plantation programme organized by Circle Officer N.L Naam and his team.

Vanmahotsav celebrated at Mariyang
ITANAGAR, Jul 21: A tree plantation programme was organized by Mariyang CDPO office recently to mark Van Mahotsava.
ADC T Pada explained about significance of celebrating Van Mahotsava and the importance of tree to the environment. He briefed about the ill effects of deforestation and indiscriminate felling of trees and asked all to plant more trees and contribute to make Arunachal greener and cleaner.
All the staff, who participated in the programme, pledged that they will take care of the planted trees.
CDPO T Bagra said that “It is not important how many trees are planted but the important thing is how many trees are taken care of and how many survived.”

ITANAGAR, Jul 21: The Gangte Panchayat Employees Forum (GPEF) organized a people’s interaction cum felicitation programme for meritorious students of Gangte Panchayat on July 19 last.
Among the 16 students who were felicitated, Tadar Naga of Class X with 8CGPA and Tana Sona of Class XII Science with 72.4% were the toppers. They were given cash and mementos.

GSU team calls on DSE
ITANAGAR, Jul 21: A GSU team led by its president Damik Gameh and Secretary general Binya Ronya called on the Director of School Education at his office today and apprised him about the problems of shortage of subject teachers in various GSS and GHSS in Galo inhabited areas of West Siang, Upper Subansiri and East Siang district.
While giving a patient hearing to the visiting team, the Director on his part assured to do the needful in mitigating the situation. The GSU also appealed for immediate creation of post of subject teachers for Nehru Higher Secondary School, Aalo and GHSS, Liromoba which have been facing acute shortage of teachers since their upgradation.
Claiming that process is underway to transfer many teachers from GHSS Basar and Tirbin, the GSU strongly appealed to the Director not to issue any transfer order without making arrangement of reliever teachers. The union also appealed to every political leader not to indulge in political transfer of any teachers as in the end it is the students who are the worst sufferers.

Teachers promoted illegally, alleges ATA
ITANAGAR, Jul 21: Claiming that five Assistant Teachers (ATs) were illegally promoted to the posts of Junior Teacher (JT), the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of Arunachal Teachers’ Association (ATA) has called for its immediate cancellation.
In its complaint letter to the chief secretary, it said that the said promotion vide order no.EED.2/358/2014 dated Itanagar 3rd March’ 2014 are of the junior most teachers and is depriving many senior assistant teachers who in DPC waiting list and many others.
It further sought promotion of the ATs in the waiting list recommended by DPC.

As per the source, starting from peon to high ranking official, the resident commissioner office has whopping 250 staffs posted at present.
Almost every department of state Govt has OSD posted there. Some of the department has more than 1 OSDs.

ZIRO, Jul 21: Today, many NGOs are coming up and working for preservation and protection of environment. Here is a man named Mudang Challyang, who is working silently on the theory of ‘back to nature’ for the benefit of the society and the mankind.
Challyang, son of Lt. Mudang Grayu of Hong village, Ziro by profession is a school teacher. After school hours and on holidays, he spends his time collecting and identifying medicinal plants available within Ziro plateau. So far, he has collected and identified 110 medicinal plant species out of which 11 comes under the category of Global Significant Medicinal Plant (GSMP).
In a brief interview, Challyang told this reporter that ‘in those days, our people used locally available medicinal plants for treating various ailments but with the advent of modern medication, they are avoiding such treatments. In order to rediscover the forgotten medicinal plants, I have started to work on identifying and collecting them since year 2009.
I have tried and applied these medicines on various aliments and found them very effective and successful. Today, people come to me asking for local medicines.
In 2012, he started planting a medicinal plant called ‘Valeriana Jatamansi’ in a bamboo garden on trial basis which was found to be successful. In November 2013, Dabur Company came to him through department for Horticulture and purchased his trial production @ Rs. 160 per kg.
Valeriana Jatamansi is a hairy and dwarf plant. It grows at a high altitude or a cold place like Ziro. It needs shade, for which bamboo garden is suitable for cultivation. Since most of the Apatanis are having own bamboo garden, they can grow bamboo cum Valeriana Jatamansi in same plot of land. I suggest them to try at least for once, he said.

is designed to go up to that point and break down. How to enhance the life of this

Not convinced? Visit a hospital and check it out. The other day I did it for myself and was amazed by what I found out. I put on the little patches they use to measure the heartbeat and experimented with the way I breathe. When I breathed deeper, my heartbeat reading would slow down to about 65. When I breathed in a shallow fashion, like most people breathe, the heart rate increased to around 90.
So now you know how to make that quota last longer? The idea is to slow the heart down and save up some of your beats for a rainy day.
It’s not just about the quantity of life; learning to breathe properly can greatly enhance the quality of life. Through pranayama and meditation, we can improve our health and reduce the impact of stress on our body. Have you ever wondered why your heart pounds and you get a lump in your throat when you have to make the speech in front of a large audience? Or why does your blood boils when someone jumps the queue while you are waiting to pay your telephone bill? The sensations you go through are nothing but the grossest expression of the subtle link between the mind and the body.
It's easy to forget the physiological effect our breathing has on us; not just on our minds, but also on our hearts and bodies. Our emotions are directly linked to our breathing. When we breathe deeply, the impact of negative emotions on our bodies is greatly reduced. Deep breathing also calms the mind, which creates a sense of well being and leads to vibrant health.
We breathe to only up to 30 per cent of our lung capacity, but the fact is that 90 per cent of toxins in our body are released through breath. And when toxins get accumulated in our body, they get manifested as diseases and stress syndrome.
Confusion, depression, or any other psychological disorders often arise because of irregularity of breath. Also, every organ in our bodies needs oxygen to function properly. When we work the deep, full breathing into all facets of your life, we oxygenate our blood and pump energy into our system.
That’s why the breathing techniques taught by the Art of Living are such a rage the world over. We breathe nearly 16 to 17 times a minute. It may go up to 20 when one is upset and up to 24 when extremely tense and angry. On the other hand, it will come down to 10 when one is calm and happy and to two to three breaths while in meditation. By controlling the breath, we can get control over our mind! ROING, Jul 21: For the first time in the district, the Annual Operating Plan meeting of District Zilla Parishad was held at ZP Chairperson’s conference hall here today.
While attending the meeting as a special invitee, Mutchu Mithi, Parliamentary Secretary cum MLA Roing said that apart from tangible development in terms of infrastructure like roads and buildings, agriculture and allied sectors need to be given emphasis for generating sustainable source of income. He requested the HoDs to give due importance to the Panchayat leaders while proposing the schemes as they are the one who are in touch with the grass root level. He further suggested to give priorities to public interest and to avoid duplicity in proposing and implementing the schemes. He further requested the Panchayat leaders to make judicious selection of beneficiaries for various schemes.
Referring to the education scenario which is not very comforting in the district, Junior Mithi further requested the panchayat leaders to encourage the parents to create congenial atmosphere for the study of their children at home too. He further says that “there is limitation but within that limitation we must try to perform”. He exhorted the HoDs and Panchayat leaders to work hand in hand saying, “each one contributing little by little, together we can make some changes”.
He further said that the power scenario has improved in the district headquarter in the last few days by the efforts of the power department and expressed hope that if things go well, two phases of the Deopani Micro Hydel will function by next years.
Deputy Commissioner Shiv Kumar said ”it is painful to see misuse of fund”. He says this while referring to some of the fund which was not being used for the purpose it was allotted. He asked the HoDs to select schemes which will benefit the general public and to work in the interest of public rather than for the sake of the interest of a particular individual. He further asked the HoDs to submit the details of their schemes to DC Office for uploading in the District Website so that the panchayat leaders and public can see for themselves on the click of a mouse about the ongoing schemes in the district. He further called upon the Panchayat leaders to discourage bandh culture since the school children are the most affected by the bandh calls. He also said to take strong action against those involve in black marketing in the district and informed that a board has been formed to fix the rates of various essential commodities and it would be fixed soon.

School that need facilities
Dear Editor,
I would like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned towards the problems
being faced by the students of Govt. Higher Secondary School, Sangram, Kurung Kumey
district. The said school is in pathetic condition with shortage of basic facilities
like table-
The school also urgently needs Senior Teachers in Political Science, Geography and Economics. Also, the absence of proper boundary demarcation between the public and school is a matter of concern here.
The school already house General ground and Community hall inside the campus since long time ago. Grieving students were complaining about the festivals and local programes being held on these grounds and halls even when classes are on which hampers the academic atmosphere severely.
A school doesn’t only mean students, teachers and classes. It should be composed of many basic facilities including good environment of the surroundings. For example, one can easily imagine the outcome if a school is surrounded by “circus” or “melas’. You may guess what kind of students will emerge from such a school.
Through this letter, I would like to appeal every likeminded citizen, elders, leaders; SMC’s and School authorities to avoid too much politics atleast while dealing with development of education sector.
No doubt, some Govt. schools are being political victimized and so is deprived of facilities. I request all the likeminded peoples to come forward and contribute towards the upliftment of education.

This is in response to the news item ‘AAPSU declares 60 hr state wide bandh’ published in July 20 edition of your daily. AAPSU has sought opinion of public regarding proposed bandh call.
Let me begin by stating that we welcome such move of AAPSU to seek public opinion. Everybody including AAPSU activists and leaders know that during bandh call, poor people are the worst sufferers. Despite knowing it why do they resort to bandh call? I am 100 percent sure that majority of Arunachalees people except few lazy government officers are dead against bandh call. However there are some government officials who use bandh call as holiday.
Though many people may not publicly criticize AAPSU’s decision to go for bandh call, privately everyone opposes it. It is my sincere and honest appeal to my AAPSU brothers, please stop this bandh culture. We had enough of it. It’s a modern world and use modern methodology to fight against system. We all support the cause taken up by you all but please no bandh call. Already people of Arunachal, in particularly citizens of capital are living pathetic life. Bad road, continuous rainfall and deteriorating law and order situation have made life miserable for resident of capital. Bandh calls are like adding salt to the injury.
If proposed 60 hour bandh call is not called off, I think majority of Arunachalee citizens will turn hostile towards AAPSU. Such situation will be sad, because AAPSU has always been known for putting interest of Arunachalee citizen at front before anything.

Dear Editor,
This is regarding the pathetic road condition connecting Tigdo village.
Due to heavy rain and accumulation of mud, the Tigdo village is cut off from the rest part of the world. The Trans Arunachal Highway which passes through Tigdo village has been cut off and the students, office goers, most importantly the patients of the village are suffering the most.
Therefore, it is our sincere request to authority concern to give due importance for restoration of the village link road which is the only life line for the people of Tigdo village.

There is no logic for calling these Bandhs
Dear Editor,
In a democratic setup, everyone has the right to articulate their views and vocalise their problems as long as it does not lead to infringement of law. In a number of developed countries including USA and France, an embargo has been put on Bandhs and strikes. It is quite regrettable that the political parties in India abuse the democratic rights of the people by calling this Bandhs and strikes which often cause a roadblock to the economic development of the nation. People can’t go to work, students are unable to go to school, and exams get postponed. The backbone of the economy is affected very badly. Is this the thing we looked for in independent India? certainly not! There is no logic for calling these Bandhs when so much hardship is caused to the common people. It is the common people who bear the brunt of the these so called machinations of public welfare. We should remember that only sensible discussions and talks can bring us to a feasible solution and these talks should serve the interest of the common people.
Looking at the wider scenario, what happens when bandh is imposed? What are its consequences?
Ok, let’s talk about the other fraction; think about the people who lives and dwell
on daily wages, one day strike can lead them to sleep unnervingly without food or
sometimes water as well. The plight of a person who wants to see his/her ailing parents,
the person who wants to go to airport/railway station for the scheduled flight/ train
to reach particular destination without fail or else he/she can miss out a good career
opportunity which he/she is looking forward since months, the situation of the school
students, a college students, a loss of day long studies which will lead to the burden
of two days studies the next day with all mental and physical stress. The rickshaw
puller, the conductor, the carpenter, the plumber etc. list in countless, who fall
prey due to this culture. And more over the backbone of the economy is affected very
badly. One who organizes such culture of Bandh may think it’s a wondrous job/duty
for the welfare of the common people and for the interest and betterment of the state.
I think it’s certainly not! At one point it’s a selfish minded of a Groups, Organizations,
Institutions and peoples etc for organising such bandh culture. It hampers the growth
of the economy and people are affected at vast number. So therefore let’s think in
the wider prospects and aspect of the common people. Time to come up with a conclusion
and a beefy resolution en route for practicing this culture. After-

Look for an alternative
Dear Editor,
Through your daily, I would like to send a message to executive members of AAPSU.
I think charter of demands can also be fulfilled by some other alternative measures rather than bandh calls.
These bandh calls are not helping any students instead it’s ruining normal people’s normal life, who doesn’t even know what the bandh is all about.
Regular bandh calls can also effect AAPSU’s reputation.
I request the AAPSU to stand against the wrong but bandh calls cannot be the solution. After all it’s 2014 of 21st century. It would be great if you take every measure for a peaceful solution with peaceful process.
Government should also take some preventive measures to stop bandh calls.
